The 4C's of Diamonds
A diamond is more than just jewelry. It is a symbol, a memory, a promise.
That is why at Maison Gabriel we go beyond classic standards and complement the four globally recognized quality criteria with a fifth, crucial value: Confidence.
Get to know the 5Cs, which for us mean uncompromising quality and absolute transparency.

1. Carat : The weight
The carat (ct) is the international unit for measuring diamond weight; one carat corresponds exactly to 0.2 grams. However, depending on the cut, a 1-carat diamond can appear different sizes, as proportions and lighting are crucial.
Although a higher carat weight is often associated with greater diamond value, size alone is not the determining factor. Proportions, cut quality, and clarity play a key role in a diamond's brilliance and radiance.
At Maison Gabriel, we use only high-quality, lab-grown diamonds starting at approximately 0.5 carats, carefully selected for color, clarity, and cut. Each main stone is additionally certified and graded by accredited gemological testing institutes for maximum transparency, quality, and trust.

2. Cut : The finishing touch
The cut determines how light hits the diamond, how it is refracted, reflected, and rebounded as sparkling brilliance. Only precise proportions and perfect angles transform a rough diamond into a true work of art.
The better the cut, the more intense the fire, the vibrant glow that makes a diamond shine.
Our grinding types
- Brilliant: classic round, with 57 facets for perfect sparkle.
- Oval: modern and flattering
- Emerald: rectangular, with characterful facets
- Radiant: intense radiance through combined cut
- Princess: square, clear, contemporary
- Drops : elegant and striking, in drop shape
We will advise you personally on your selection so that your diamond is the right fit for you.

3. Color: The color
The color of a diamond is one of the most important quality criteria; it not only influences the external appearance but also significantly influences the value of a stone.
The diamond colour is rated on an internationally recognised scale from D (very fine white, colourless) to Z (clearly tinted) .
Maison Gabriel uses only stones in the highest color categories, D to F. These so-called "Top Wesselton" colors represent a brilliant white, elegant brilliance that is extremely rare in nature. This is precisely why these color grades are often not offered in natural diamonds for economic reasons; however, they are standard with us.
In addition to classic white tones, Maison Gabriel also offers select fancy colors upon request, including pink, champagne, and bright yellow . These colored diamonds add extraordinary accents and underscore the personality of their wearers.
Our color standards:
- D–F: Very fine white to fine white
- Fancy Diamonds: Pink, Champagne, Yellow and other exclusive color variations on request

4. Clarity: Purity
Every diamond is unique, also due to its small internal features, called inclusions. These occur during the natural or lab-created crystallization process and make each stone unique. Inclusions are like a fingerprint; they tell the diamond's story.
We only use diamonds with particularly high purity, tailored to your piece of jewelry:
• IF (Internally Flawless): flawless, with no visible inclusions.
• VVS (Very Very Slightly Included): minimal features, difficult to detect under a magnifying glass.
• VS (Very Slightly Included): very small inclusions, visible under 10x magnification.
We guarantee you sparkle without compromise, and a diamond that impresses with its clarity, beauty, and origin.
